Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth through the identification of new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients, and enhancing partnerships with existing clients. This role focuses on expanding the company’s market presence, increasing revenue, and developing long-term strategic goals. The Business Development Manager collaborates with the sales, marketing, and product teams to align business strategies with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Identify new business opportunities by researching potential clients, industry trends, and market segments.
  • Develop and execute strategies to attract new clients and expand the company’s customer base.
  • Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other tools to source potential leads and build a strong prospect pipeline.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and business leaders within targeted industries.
  • Develop long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and meetings with clients to identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.

3. Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Create and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Drive negotiations with potential clients, preparing and delivering proposals and contracts that align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to close deals and ensure smooth handover to the client servicing team.

4. Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape, customer needs, and industry developments.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify areas for business expansion and improvement.
  • Utilize LinkedIn Market Insights and other data sources to generate actionable insights and inform business strategy.

5. Product & Service Development:

  • Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to provide feedback from clients and the market, helping shape product improvements and new offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that meet client needs and business objectives.
  • Assist in creating marketing materials, sales presentations, and business proposals that highlight the value of the company’s products and services.

6. Networking & Partnerships:

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and partners.
  • Leverage LinkedIn and other professional platforms to network and create business opportunities.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with other companies to enhance the company’s product offerings or expand into new markets.

7. Reporting & Analysis:

  • Track and report on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead conversion rates, revenue growth, and client acquisition.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development strategies and outcomes.

8. Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute long-term business development strategies.
  • Identify new markets and products for expansion and growth, aligning business objectives with market opportunities.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making related to mergers, acquisitions, and new ventures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for lead generation and tracking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
